Supported equipment

The equipment library behind the tool — the generic archetypes every layout is built on, and the named manufacturer models you can select in the tool.

Every dimension and clearance in a generated layout comes from a concrete equipment model, so an exported layout corresponds to hardware you can actually procure. The library holds two kinds of entry:

  • Generic models— the default. An archetype with typical dimensions and ratings, for projects that haven't committed to a manufacturer yet.
  • Named models— specific manufacturer products whose datasheets anchor the numbers. Supported means the solver's geometry represents that product's layout-relevant characteristics exactly: footprint, service sides, cooling position, and stacking rules.

Both are selectable in the tool — DC blocks in the DC block config card, skids in the PCS config card. Generic models are available on every plan; selecting named models is part of Pro. This page lists only layout-relevant data; full specifications live on the linked product pages.

DC blocks

A DC blockis the battery container: cells, racks, BMS, and cooling in one enclosure, connected on the DC side of the PCS. The library currently supports the typical current-generation archetype — a liquid-cooled 20 ft container with the cooling and connection section on one short end, service doors along the long side, and blind sides that stack back-to-back and side-by-side. Those are exactly the L2L and S2S rules the solver's DC block model encodes in Solo, Twin, and Quad clusters. DC block designs with different cooling or access arrangements pack differently and will enter the library as their own archetypes.

PCS & MV skids

A PCS & MV skid is the AC side of a BESS section: power conversion, medium-voltage transformer, and ring main unit pre-assembled on one skid, serviced externally — which is where the uniform 2 m clearance on all four sides comes from. Which skid pairs with which DC cluster, and the duration-based defaults Auto applies, is covered in BESS section configurations.

E-house

The MV-collection E-house uses generic format sizing — 20 ft, 40 ft, or a 15 × 4 m walk-in, selected by site power — rather than a specific product. See E-house and grid connection.

Growing the library

More models, more manufacturers, and more equipment types are added continuously; everything in the library surfaces in the tool's pickers and in the tables above from the same source. If your project uses equipment of a supported archetype with different clearances, adjust the distances in Site details — the solver applies them everywhere, instantly.
